The story advances the main plot dramatically while delivering plenty of weird, wild, and simply entertaining fantasy.

8. Daredevil: Born Again

As a successor to the legendary Netflix series, Daredevil: Born Again had enormous expectations. Despite well-documented production issues, the resulting show demonstrates to be worthy of the effort. The plot centers on Matt Murdock after his secret identity as Daredevil is exposed, leaving him a target to enemies both history and new threats in a slightly version of his well-known world.

The first episode is explosive, evoking the gritty feeling audiences cherished from the original incarnation. While the middle chapters explore certain new narrative ground, the first season finishes powerfully, leaving viewers eagerly awaiting a second season.

7. Common Side Effects

A unexpected 2025 highlight, this show is essentially an animated crime saga with the sensibility of a suburban satire. Helmed by an Adult Swim veteran and comedy Steve Hely, the series tells the story of a nerdy mycologist who discovers a curative fungus and quickly finds himself pursued by everyone from ruthless Big Pharma CEOs to federal agents.

Far from being a parody, the show unfolds with the grave intensity of a 1970s paranoia film. It's a smart, beautifully animated, and completely compelling ten-episode season.

6. Fallout Season 2

This hit series based on the popular gaming franchise came back with a second batch of episodes that expanded its epic mystery and broadened its nuclear wasteland setting. Although it ventures toward the legendary location of New Vegas, the story is far from a straight retelling of that title; instead, it continues to explore ideas of authority and autonomy.
