Former President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the family of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the White House.

He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a violent incident on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

The president explained he’s discussed a White House visit for the loved ones of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump addressed the press. “And likewise with him, recover or not.”

Community members gathered over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to assist public safety in Washington DC.

“She was the type of pupil that instructors wished for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a positive energy that encouraged people around her,” Hankins, the principal of her previous school, told the media. “She was kind, considerate and always ready to support those in need.”

Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The event prompted the administration to pause asylum applications and temporarily stop granting entry permits to holders of travel documents.

Condition of the Airman

Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi stated on the program that she aimed to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a law enforcement officer with excellence, per the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had fortitude,” he informed the audience at the memorial. “Though her life ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
