Around twenty-five thousand homes in Queensland's southeast woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the area, producing strong winds topping 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Broad Damage
Homeowners reported substantial frozen pellets as large as seven centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities announced that various areas across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing power throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units activated to manage the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, approximately one thousand households in Victoria also encountered electricity disruptions after the capital city recorded its wettest day in 18 months.
State Emergency Services received over five hundred requests for assistance across the region, mostly for property damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

During the peak on the previous day, in excess of 28k electricity consumers in Victoria were lacking electricity.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was expected to become the most rainy day, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across multiple regions of both areas.

Public health experts warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, specifically given the current weather patterns.
