Iran Claims Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is not yet known and the US has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck areas linked to the the regime, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
