Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a former doctor stands accused of carrying out assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
